The Rocky Patel Grand Reserve is a rare Honduran cigar series that was released in international markets before its debut in the United States. This is also the first Rocky Patel to do so, in 2018, made even more unusual by the fact that the company is based in Florida.
When it did reach the U.S. in 2020, it garnered immediate acclaim, including a number 9 spot on Cigar Aficionado magazine's top 25 list for the Robusto in 2021. The Aficionado tasting panel noted the "savory, leathery quality" of the Grand Reserve, juxtaposed with a licorice and salted caramel sweetness, and concluded that the blend "is simply a smoke for anyone in the world who loves a fine cigar."
The Grand Reserve Toro is the same blend of tobaccos as the acclaimed Robusto and offers a smoking time of roughly 90 minutes.
