The result is a well-rounded, robust smoke with a signature smokiness, coupled with subtle sweetness and spice.

Balkan blends, while similar to English blends, tend to emphasize Oriental tobaccos more heavily, which enhances the blend's spiciness and introduces more nuanced, sometimes slightly tangy flavours. In a Balkan blend, the Latakia is still present but plays a more supportive role, allowing the rich, savoury notes of the Orientals to shine.
