Quai D'Orsay

Quai D'Orsay cigars, born out of French-Cuban collaboration, offer a unique and elegant experience in the world of premium cigars.

Established in 1973, the brand was inspired by Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, the French Economy and Finance Minister at the time, who envisioned a cigar with a light flavour to complement French delicacies like champagne and foie gras. This led the French tobacco monopoly (SEITA) to collaborate with Cubatabaco. In essence, since Quai d’Orsay initially catered almost exclusively to the French market, it embodied the definition of a "local" brand.

In 2005, Quai d’Orsay expanded its production and global availability. The brand received a significant update in 2017, introducing new band and box designs along with additional cigars to the lineup. With the reclassification of brand categories by Habanos S.A. in 2019, Quai d’Orsay was initially placed in the "Other" category of portfolio brands but was later elevated to the "Value" category that same year.
