Vegueros
It's not often that Cuba completely overhauls an existing brand, but this is exactly what they did with the Vegueros. Previously a low-selling brand that featured mostly long and slender vitolas, Cuba announced in 2013 that they were releasing three entirely new shapes & sizes, with less length but more girth. These inaugural vitolas were the Mañanita, Entretiempo, and Tapado.
These vitolas proved popular enough that Cuba released a new size - the Centrofinos - in 2019, followed by the Centrogordos in 2023. What makes the Vegueros brand somewhat unusual is that the relatively low price implies that these cigars are machine made and/or using short-filler tobacco, but all Vegueros cigars are in fact rolled by hand with long-filler tobacco. This fact prompted Cigar Aficionado magazine to dub the Vegueros, "Cuba’s most wallet-friendly premium cigar."
All Vegueros cigars are rolled, along with the Trinidad brand, at the Francisco Donatién factory in Pinar del Río.
