The year 1844 saw the first electrical telegram sent by Samuel Morse from Washington DC to Baltimore. It was also the year that the Dominican Republic gained independence from Haiti, and drafted its first constitution.

And in that same year, the first H. Upmann cigar was produced in a brand new factory in Havana, Cuba.

The long and esteemed history of the brand is still present in every Upmann cigar to this day, from the cedarwood boxes invented by founder Hermann Upmann to the bands which bear the lithographed art depicting the several gold medals won by Upmann cigars in the 19th century. The staying power of the brand is a testament to its high quality and consistency.

Contained in Upmann's portfolio are classic pre-Castro vitolas like the Sir Winston and Upmann No.2 to modern blends like the Half Corona and Magnum 50. H. Upmann cigars are known to be solidly medium strength, offering a mellow smoke to novice cigar enthusiasts. At the same time, they offer complexity of flavours that will appeal to more experienced smokers.

Please see our list of H. Upmann cigars below, and note that due to supply issues from Cuba, not all vitolas may be available at this time.
