Oliva's Serie V Melanio has earned a stellar reputation for itself largely due to the tremendous respect it gets from Cigar Aficionado magazine. A Melanio vitola has cracked the top 10 of CA's annual list a whopping five times now, including a number three spot for the Toro in 2023 and a number one spot for the Figurado in 2014. Both vitolas achieved coveted 96 ratings in those respective years.
Although those rankings are for the Natural version of the Melanio specifically, the Maduro has also fared very well, garnering a 95 rating for the Melanio Maduro Torpedo in 2024. The Maduro blend sacrifices the Sumatra wrapper of the original, but replaces it with a gorgeous dark Maduro leaf from the lush San Andres Valley combined with a blend of potent Sun Grown filler leaf from the renowned Jalapa region of Nicaragua.
The Serie V Melanio Maduro Figurado is essentially a Toro size in a Figurado shape, with an estimated smoking time of 90 minutes.
