If you're going to reinvent yourself, you might as well go big, which is exactly what Hoyo de Monterrey did with their Le Hoyo series. Before the launch of the San Juan in 2014, no vitola in the series had a ring gauge larger than 42. But the San Juan changed that with its hefty 54 gauge, and the Rio Seco - launched in 2018 - dialed it up even more with a 56.

The Rio Seco was an instant success, managing to land a placement on Cigar Aficionado magazine's Top 25 list of 2019 in the 17th spot. This thick Toro smokes for about 90 minutes and imparts flavours like cocoa, oak wood, and spice with robust medium-bodied strength.
