When Alec Bradley owner Alan Rubin debuted the Prensado in 2009, he probably didn't imagine that a whopping four different vitolas in the series would be voted into Cigar Aficionado magazine's Top 25 list over the next fifteen years. But this is exactly what happened, including a number 20 spot for the Gran Toro and a number 1 spot for the Churchill in 2011, after a mere two years on the market.
Many of the positive reviews mention the darkness of the wrapper leaf, which is a sun grown Corojo beauty from the Trojes region of Honduras. Accolades also go to the flavours, which are rich and complex, and include pepper, leather, chocolate, and dried fruit. Every Prensado is box-pressed, which can result in a more flavourful cigar with a slower burn.
The Churchill of the series offers a burn time of up to 90 minutes.
