Manuel Quesada collaborated with Nicaragua’s largest cigar tobacco grower, Nestor Plascencia, to craft the blend for Casa Magna Colorado, produced at Plascencia’s Segovia Cigar factory in Nicaragua. This classic Nicaraguan puro is named for the dark, slightly reddish hue of its wrapper. Handmade from Cuban-seed tobacco grown in four regions of Nicaragua, Casa Magna Colorado offers the rich flavour characteristic of Nicaraguan cigars combined with the complexity derived from its diverse tobacco blend.
Much like the Colorado Extraordinario, the Robusto has been honoured twice in Cigar Aficionado magazine with placements on their annual top 25 list. This included a #20 spot in 2022 and a #1 spot in 2008; in the latter review they remarked that it was Quesada's "greatest innovation" and noted the "rich coffee notes [and] cedary sweetness" in the flavour profile.
The Colorado Robusto is a Robusto Extra size that burns for approximately 75 minutes.
