La Aroma de Cuba transcends roots that date back to the late 1880s in Cuba, where the brand became an early favourite of Winston Churchill. The current Nicaraguan version, however, has only existed since 2003 and has exploded in popularity since 2009, when it was re-blended by José "Pepin" Garcia of My Father Cigars fame.
Wrapped in a captivating San Andrés leaf, the La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor showcases a vintage blend of premium binder and filler tobaccos grown on exclusive Garcia family estates in Nicaragua. It boasts a complex profile featuring notes of dark chocolate, almond, and espresso, accented by subtle hints of coconut and a bold undertone of cracked black pepper.
The Mi Amor blend has received a flood of critical praise, most notably from Cigar Aficionado magazine, which has included a Mi Amor vitola on their annual Top 25 list a whopping five times. This includes a selection as second-best cigar of the year for the Mi Amor Belicoso in 2011 and, more recently, a selection as 9th best cigar of the year for the same vitola in 2023.
The Mi Amor Robusto offers the same blend of tobacco as the Belicoso, with a slightly shorter smoking time of around 60 minutes. The strength is medium to full.
