After the success of their acclaimed Liga Privada No.9 blend, Drew Estate needed a worthy follow-up. Rather than mimicking the No.9 blend too closely, the brand went in an even more unique direction when creating the T52 with the use of stalk-cut wrapper leaf.
For most cigars, wrapper leaves are harvested individually, or primed. With a stalk-cut, the entire tobacco plant is cut at the base and hung by its stalk to cure in a barn. This method allows the tobacco plant to draw nutrients from its thick stalk, with a longer curing process compared to primed tobacco. The result is a richer, earthier flavour than is culled from primed leaves.
But be forewarned: the T52 offers a very full-bodied smoke with a potent Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and a savoury flavour profile that includes a large dose of black pepper and spice. If this is to your taste, you'll get a very satisfying 75 minute burn time from this thick Robusto.
