Manuel Quesada collaborated with Nicaragua’s largest cigar tobacco grower, Nestor Plascencia, to craft the blend for Casa Magna Colorado, produced at Plascencia’s Segovia Cigar factory in Nicaragua. This classic Nicaraguan puro is named for the dark, slightly reddish hue of its wrapper. Handmade from Cuban-seed tobacco grown in four regions of Nicaragua, Casa Magna Colorado offers the rich flavour characteristic of Nicaraguan cigars combined with the complexity derived from its diverse tobacco blend.
Much like the Colorado Robusto, the Extraordinario has been honoured twice in Cigar Aficionado magazine with placements on their annual top 25 list. This included a #12 spot in 2009 and a #23 spot in 2013; in the latter review they noted the "serious leathery quality with plenty of sweet nougat and cocoa" in the flavour profile.
The Extraordinario is a Salomon size that burns for approximately two hours.
