When the Flathead series was first released by the C.A.O brand in the early 2010's, it caused quite a stir in the cigar industry. The combination of perfectly square box-pressed vitolas (meant to mimic the engine block in a hot rod) with the perfect flatness of the head, and the added touch of a a vintage-style print of a pinup girl, made for an instant success.

Then there's the blend itself, which melds together a dark Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, a Cuban-seed binder, and a combination of Nicaraguan ligero and Dominican Piloto Cubano tobacco that was described as "gutsy" by Cigar Aficionado magazine when they voted the Flathead Carb as the third best cigar of the year in 2015.

The Big Block is a proper 770 size, smoking for a good 150 minutes while imparting flavours of leather, molasses, and dried fruit.
