Designed as a regional edition for the Canadian market, the the Borealis features tobacco cultivated from farmland in the southwestern corner of Ontario near the Great Lakes. According to General Cigar Co., the region's humidity and warm evenings create ideal conditions for growing a unique Cuban-seed variety of dark air-cured tobacco.

This Canadian tobacco is paired with Nicaraguan filler, complemented by a Nicaraguan-grown binder and an Ecuadorian Habano Viso wrapper. The result is a medium-bodied blend that delivers notes of spice, pepper, nuts, and cocoa.

The CAO Borealis Robusto offers a burn time of approximately 60 minutes.
